The aim of this problem book is to collect selected problems related to Fourier and Laplace theory using a “practical approach” that can assist students to meet the learning outcomes of different engineering courses based on this part of mathematics. The level of problems is varying from the basics (e.g. properties of sine and cosine functions) to advanced investigations in abstract spaces.
Chapters start with brief theoretical summaries- concentrating only on basic definitions and formulas that are necessary for calculations. They do not serve as complete discussions of the related mathematical theory.
