Manuscripts must be submitted in an editable (doc, docx, odt) and pdf format. Illustrations (in the highest resolution possible) should be submitted at the same time as the manuscript.
DUPress provides high quality services to authors and editors who meet the manuscript submission deadlines.
The publisher’s annual plan is based on lecture notes requirements by the faculties, grant applications and deadlines for the given year, the publicatio cycle of our journals, and pre arranged individual orders. Manuscripts submitted beyond these categories or after the submission deadline can be published the following year.
Be as consistent as possible with typographic solutions and aim for a solid presentation. Use styles, lists instead of manual settings to structure the content (more enter, spaces). With lists, avoid too many types and great depths (3 levels can be identified). Create numbered footnotes or endnotes by using the Reference → Footnote / Endnotes command.
The structure of the chapters should not exceed 3 levels, numbering the headlines may help the logical overview. The table of contents should follow the chapter titles.
Define acronyms or abbreviations on their first occurence in content (directly in parentheses next to the word) or resolve them in the list of abbreviations.
Be sure to use correct characters (e.g. do not mix O and 0 or l and 1). Do not use spaces in front of the punctuation marks, except in front of dashes. In the case of an ellipsis, use the one-character value “…” character.
When highlighting content, select bold or italics, no other formatting is required, because in some cases it can complicate the process of publishing.
Quotations are published in full fidelity and in the letter./ Quotations are published verbatim. Abbreviations or additions of the author are enclosed in square brackets, e.g. […].
Depending on the topic, you may illustrate and support the content with tables, graphs, figures, and pictures. However, insertion into the body itself should only be done at a professional level; otherwise, its quality will be jeopardized and work on the manuscript becomes more difficult. In this case, simply indicate the place in the text and attach the materials for illustration.
In case of tables (as well), less is more: a multi-column, row-based composite table can be unclear to read, moreover, its typographic representation can also be problematic. Therefore, choose the simplest and most transparent structure. Also, if an e-book is expected to be prepared from a given material, it must be noted that it is very difficult to optimize 10-15 column tables for 4-5-6″ displays.
For figures, especially for pictures, it is recommended to choose high resolution images, possibly in a PNG format.
Both in the case of in-text citation and bibliography, follow the accepted reference style of the discipline. It is recommended to use a reference software.
